The Transforming Love of God: Fire Within continues

School of Work and Prayer Friends,

 

At the end of February we gathered at the Wessel's house (thank you Wessels for your hospitality again) to discuss Dubay's chapter on the Teresian Mansions, a short guided tour of St. Teresa's great work, The Interior Castle.  While discussing this chapter I told the group that the hardest teaching for me in Fire Within is that the heights of contemplative prayer and heroic sanctity are to be the NORMAL maturity of every baptized Christian, not the priveledge of a few chosen souls.  Such a high calling!

 

At our next meeting we will review the chapter on Teresian Mansions again and discuss the next chapter, chapter 7 entitled "Conditions for Growth".  We won't meet during Lent.  I will send another email near the end of Lent with the date of our next discussion.

 

May the Lord grant us knowledge of prayer that we may all the more eagerly seek his transforming love for us.
